But before selecting a dye, remember that on the bricks and masonry surfaces the dyes may be unpredictable. So try a variety of different types and tints of a white colour on some spot of a hearth or on the same brick that you have left from the moment you installed your fire spot. When you have selected the suitable tint of a dye, you must prepare your place for painting. So remove all dust, webs of spiders, any dirt or soot from your bricks and then wash them with the soap and water or special substances. Use a rough brush to clean the blocks in the best way. After that you have to let them dry. Later paint your fire spot with attention and make sure all the holes and corners are painted in the best way.
